Liu Shaoqi

Liu Shaoqi
Liu Shaoqi was one of the leaders of Communist China in the 1950s and 1960s. Because he disagreed with Mao Zedong’s radical economic policies, Liu was imprisoned in 1968 during the Cultural Revolution. He died in prison in 1969, but was later remembered as an upright leader who was unjustly persecuted.
