The 30th president of the United States, Calvin Coolidge led the country through a period of relatively untroubled times from 1923 to 1929. Coolidge served as vice president under Warren G. Harding and assumed the presidency after Harding’s death in 1923. He easily won reelection in 1924, governing by the principle of minimal government interference in private life and business. Coolidge is heard here speaking on American free enterprise.
