Joint Session of Congress
Joint sessions of the United States Congress are held infrequently during the course of a regular congressional session. The Senate and House of Representatives only convene jointly when the president wishes to address both houses or when visiting dignitaries give speeches. Here, Russian president Boris Yeltsin receives a standing ovation from a joint session of Congress in 1992.
