Zurich, Switzerland

Due to its traditional political neutrality, Switzerland has avoided much of the damage associated with Europe’s wars. As a result, many Swiss cities retain their old-world charm. This is true of Zürich, the largest city in Switzerland and an important commercial and manufacturing center. Part of the city’s beautiful, and still functional, old town, is pictured here along the Limmat River.
