Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho
Lake Pend Oreille, in northern Idaho, is the largest lake in the state, with an area of 344 sq km (133 sq mi). It is also one of the deepest water bodies in the United States. The lake is the source for the Pend Oreille River, which flows from Idaho and through Washington to join the Columbia River in British Columbia, Canada.
