| Haleakala National Park, on Maui Island, Hawaii, is one of the few locations in the world where the silversword fern can be found. The fern grows along Haleakala Crater, a summit depression at the peak of the Haleakala volcano. Most of the varieties of plants found in Hawaii grow in this eastern part of Maui due to the fertility of the volcanic soil. | ||||||
