Housatonic River
The Housatonic River crosses the western part of Connecticut, flowing south from the Massachusetts border and emptying into Long Island Sound. Known for the beautiful scenery along its 238-km (148-mi) path, the river at one time was an important source of waterpower for Connecticut.
