Richard (Dick) Cheney
Dick Cheney served in several Republican administrations, including those of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. In 1989 President George Bush appointed him secretary of defense. Cheney was chosen by Bush’s son, George W. Bush, as his vice-presidential candidate in the 2000 presidential race.
