Cheshire Cat Grinning at Alice
This illustration by English cartoonist Sir John Tenniel portrays the Cheshire Cat, a character from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In English author Lewis Carroll’s book, published in 1865, the Cheshire Cat would often fade from sight until nothing but his grin remained visible. Carroll originally wrote this children’s story for his friend’s daughter.
