First Issue of The Crisis
The Crisis magazine was established by W. E. B. Du Bois for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1910. Du Bois was perhaps the most influential and prestigious black leader in the first half of the 20th century in the United States. The magazine is intended for all persons interested in civil rights and in the state of race relations around the world.
