| Texas is one of the leading states in the production of sulfur. Subterranean deposits of this nonmetallic element exist in large quantities primarily in the state’s Gulf Coastal Plain. In order to extract the sulfur, it must be melted and then forced up in a liquid form. Once it reaches the air, the sulfur is allowed to harden. | ||||||
