King’s Gravesite
The inscription on the tombstone of American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., reads, “Free at last. Free at last. Thank God almighty I’m free at last.” The quote is from a spiritual, or religious folk song, which King often used to close his speeches. King was killed in 1968, but his words and philosophy continue to inspire many in the United States and around the world.
