Performed by a group of villagers from Husseiniyat in Yemen, this fast and furious, largely improvised music is played for dancing. A duet of two flutes (gasaba) is backed by a polyrhythmic ensemble of three large horizontal drums (tabl) and several kettledrums (marfa, tunkarat).
