De Soto State Park

De Soto State Park
De Soto State Park, one of Alabama’s 24 state parks, is located along the Little River in the northeastern corner of Alabama. The park was founded in the 1930s and named for the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, who passed through the area searching for gold in the 16th century. The park contains the notable De Soto Falls and a long scenic drive along one of the deepest gorges east of the Mississippi River.
