Folk singer and guitarist Doc Watson is known for his performance of Anglo-American folk ballads as well as blues and country music. Watson grew up in a musical household in rural North Carolina singing songs passed down through the generations. He is probably best known for his accomplishments on the acoustic guitar. In this recording of a traditional ballad, “Every Day Dirt,” Watson’s pick-and-strum guitar style can be heard.
