| The sloth bear, found in the Indian subcontinent and Sri Lanka, gets its name from its sluggish movements. Related to the Asiatic black bear, the sloth bear can weigh up to 140 kg (310 lb). Almost extinct in Sri Lanka, the sloth bear is also endangered in India due to limited conservation efforts. | ||||||
