| The 20th-century Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo is known for his easel paintings as well as his murals. Like other Mexican mural painters, Tamayo was influenced by European modernist movements, such as cubism, as well as by the pre-Columbian art of his native land. Tamayo, however, places far less emphasis on political and social issues than the other muralists. This mural is in the Palacio de Belles Artes in Mexico City. |
