Berlin Street Scene (1913), by German expressionist painter Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, was one of a series of street scenes done by the artist between 1912 and 1913. Kirchner’s paintings, with their vivid colors and emotional content, paralleled the art of the fauvists. The distinctive brushwork and flattened space recalls the work of Cézanne. This painting measures 200 by 150 cm (78.75 by 59 in).
