Xenophon

Xenophon
The writings of Greek historian and soldier Xenophon have contributed significantly to our modern understanding of Greece and Persia in the 4th century bc. His most celebrated book, Anabasis, describes a retreat he led of 10,000 Greek soldiers through hostile Persian lands over a five-month period. Many of the soldiers survived the grueling journey, a feat attributed largely to Xenophon’s resourcefulness.
