Zhong Shan Road

Zhong Shan Road
Shanghai is China’s largest city and the country’s chief industrial and trade center. The lights along the Zhong Shan Road, a popular landmark of the city, glitter in this nighttime photo. Europeans and Americans knew this boulevard as the Bund during the period of foreign concessions in Shanghai in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The boulevard runs along the Huangpu River and is lined with parks and European-style buildings.
