Provinces of South Africa

Provinces of South Africa
In 1994, at the time of South Africa’s first free elections, the country was divided into nine provinces: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Northern Province (now Limpopo Province), North-West Province, and Western Cape. Northern Cape is the largest but least densely populated province, while Gauteng is the smallest but most densely populated.
