| American actor Douglas Fairbanks began his stage career in 1901. In 1915 he formed his own production company. He soon became one of the most popular actors in the 1920s. Known for his dashing stunts and swordplay, Fairbanks starred in a number of pictures, including The Mark of Zorro (1920), The Thief of Bagdad (1924), and Don Q, Son of Zorro (1925). Fairbanks was a founding member of the film production company United Artists Incorporated in 1919. |
