Noted for his ball-handling abilities and passing skills, Robertson compiled 9887 assists during his professional career. He also won the NBA’s rookie of the year award (1961) and most valuable player award (1964). The leader of the 1960 United States gold-medal Olympic basketball team and a three-time choice as college player of the year (1958-1960), Robertson ranks as one of the finest players ever at all levels of competitive basketball.
