Edward Kennedy
This photograph, taken in 1988, shows Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy outside his Capitol Hill office. Kennedy was first elected to the United States Senate in 1962 to complete the unexpired term of his brother John, who left the post to become the country’s president. In his many years as a senator, Ted Kennedy has earned respect for his well-researched and clearly defined positions on social legislation.
