Richard Feynman
American physicist Richard Feynman was well known for both his contributions to quantum electrodynamics and his enthusiastic teaching methods. Feynman reformulated quantum electrodynamic theory, which concerns the interactions between electromagnetic waves and matter. He is pictured here after winning the 1965 Nobel Prize in physics, which he shared with American physicist Julian S. Schwinger and Japanese physicist Tomonaga Shin’ichirō.
