Werner Heisenberg
German physicist Werner Heisenberg is best known for his discovery of the uncertainty principle. This principle states that it is impossible to measure the exact position and the momentum of a given body at the same time. Heisenberg was a leader in the emerging field of quantum theory, and his work earned him the 1932 Nobel Prize in physics.
