Later that year Boitano won the Olympic gold medal in the men’s figure skating competition. Winner of world titles in 1986 and 1988, Boitano also won a 1990 Emmy Award with German skater Katarina Witt for a collaborative television adaptation of Carmen, the opera by French composer Georges Bizet. | ||||||
