American baseball player Pete Rose set numerous major league baseball records over his 24-year career, including most career hits (4256). He also led the National League (NL) in batting three times (1968, 1969, 1973) and was named the NL’s most valuable player (MVP) in 1973. Rose’s energy on the field earned him the nickname Charlie Hustle.
