John Galsworthy
The winner of the 1932 Nobel Prize in literature, English novelist and playwright John Galsworthy became known for his novels about the Forsyte family. He used the upper-middle-class family as a vehicle for discussing the conflict between the desire for financial gain and humanitarianism. A collection of five novels was published as The Forsyte Saga in 1922.
