The sun bear, an arboreal member of the bear family, is native to the forests of Southeast Asia. It has the shortest fur of any species of bear and strong claws that aid in climbing and resting in trees. The omnivorous sun bear feeds on termites, fruit, the tips of palm trees, and small birds and mammals.
