Theodore Roosevelt served as president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. His administration fought for the rights of workers and small businesses and for the conservation of natural resources. In 1912 he ran for the presidency again, this time as the candidate of the Progressive Party. In this speech, part of his 1912 campaign, he advocates limiting the working hours of women and abolishing child labor.
