Although native to Europe and Asia, the gray partridge has become thoroughly established through intentional introductions in large parts of Canada and the United States. This popular game bird is related to turkeys and pheasants. Hens lay up to 20 olive-colored eggs in poorly defined nests in bushes or tall grass.
