Capture of the City of Québec

Capture of the City of Québec
Great Britain captured the French-held city of Québec in 1759. British General James Wolfe landed his troops and stormed the Plains of Abraham above the city, where they defeated the French defenders led by General Joseph de Montcalm. Wolfe was killed and Montcalm died the next day from wounds he received in the battle.
