Louis Brandeis

Louis Brandeis
As a litigator and later as a member of the United States Supreme Court, Louis Brandeis was a champion of economic, social, and political justice. In support of his arguments for reform, Brandeis used statistical data concerning social conditions. The “Brandeis brief,” a legal document full of citations regarding social data as opposed to the traditional theoretical format, was named for his style of argumentation.
