Gustav Mahler

Gustav Mahler
Viennese conductor Gustav Mahler was one of the great postromantic composers of the 19th century. Mahler’s symphonies are long and complex works that make full use of the range and sonorities of the orchestra. His Symphony No. 8 is known as the Symphony of a Thousand because performing it requires so many instrumentalists and vocalists.
