Ted Williams
One of baseball’s greatest hitters, Ted Williams led the American League in batting six times. He joined the Boston Red Sox in 1937 and, with the exception of two periods of military service, played for the Red Sox until 1960. Williams retired with a career batting average of .344 and gained election to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
