| During his 22-year career as a baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals, Stan Musial set more major league records than any other player. When he retired in 1963, Musial held National League records that included career games played, runs batted in, runs scored, and hits. He returned to baseball as a winning general manager, overseeing the Cardinals’ 1967 rise to the National League championship. Musial was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. |
