Pancho Gonzalez
After winning two United States championships as an amateur, Pancho Gonzalez turned professional and dominated tennis during the 1950s. He announced his retirement in 1961, but continued to play competitively throughout the 1960s. In 1969, Gonzalez won the longest match in Wimbledon history, defeating Charlie Pasarell after 112 games and more than five hours.
