Eudora Welty
Eudora Welty’s stories are often about the people of her region in Mississippi. She recreates the vernacular of the southern United States and portrays its residents with sympathy and sensitivity. In 1973 she won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel The Optimist’s Daughter.
