Dan Quayle
Dan Quayle was first elected to a United States public office in 1976, when he became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He became a U.S. senator in 1980, and was in his second term when George Bush selected him to be his presidential running mate in 1988. They won the election and Quayle served as vice president from 1989 to 1993.
