George V

George V
George V, the second son of Britain’s King Edward VII, became the heir apparent when his older brother Albert died in 1892, and he became king in 1910. In 1917, during the anti-German sentiment of World War I, George changed the royal family’s surname from the Germanic name Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor.
