North Bridge
The Battle of Concord, the first serious battle of the American Revolution (1775-1783), took place at the North Bridge on April 19, 1775. The British army went to Concord to seize guns and supplies that the colonists had stored there. However, the colonial militia forced the British to retreat back to Boston.
