Treaty with the Shoshone People

Treaty with the Shoshone People
Many Native American peoples in Idaho were confined to reservations under treaties signed beginning in the 1850s. This painting by Charles Nahl, Treaty with the Shoshone Indians in 1866, depicts negotiations between whites and the Shoshone, who gave up their lands in southern Idaho.
