Island of Philae

Island of Philae
The island of Philae, in the Nile River near Aswān, Egypt, became the center of the cult of the goddess Isis in the 4th century bc. The temple that was built on the island in her honor still stands today and attracts tourists traveling in pleasure boats down the Nile.
