Wawel Cathedral, Kraków
The Gothic Wawel Cathedral in Kraków, Poland, was used for the coronation ceremonies of Polish kings and as a burial place for many of the country’s famous historical figures. In 1359 the cathedral was consecrated and dedicated to the memory of Saint Stanislaus, who was killed in 1079 by the order of King Boleslaw II. The saint's tomb is in the cathedral.
