Yves Montand (1921–1991), Italian-born French actor and singer. He was born Ivo Livi. Popular in France from the 1950s, Montand also appeared in American motion pictures such as Let's Make Love (1960), with American actress Marilyn Monroe. Later films include Z (1968), Le Sauvage (The Savage, 1976), Jean de Florette (1986), and Manon des Sources (Manon of the Springs, 1986).

Montand first became known for his music-hall performances. He made his movie breakthrough in the thriller Le Salaire de la peur (The Wages of Fear, 1953).
