Chang Tao-ling (ad 2nd century), Chinese Daoist and founder of salvationary or 'religious' Daoism. He worked in Sichuan province as a healer. He combined Daoist teachings with shamanistic and healing or psychological rites to form the first popular mass movement in Daoism. He is worshiped as a Daoist deity and as the chief exorcist and demon-slayer of Daoist mythology.
