Wild Strawberries, Swedish motion picture about an elderly physician and medical researcher who reviews his life as he drives to a university where he will be awarded an honorary degree. Released in 1957, this film was written and directed by Ingmar Bergman, and is considered one of his finest films. After having a disturbing dream, Professor Isak Borg (Victor Sjöström) decides to drive instead of fly to Lund, where he will receive the degree. He gives his daughter-in-law (Ingrid Thulin) a ride, and they pick up a hitchhiker and several stranded motorists en route. When Borg stops at his family’s summer home along the way, he has vivid memories of his youth.
