Slaughterhouse-Five, motion picture about a man drifting through time, based on the 1969 novel by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Released in 1972, the film won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. An optometrist named Billy Pilgrim (played by Michael Sacks) visits his past and his future. He relives the bombing of Dresden, Germany, during World War II (1939-1945) and travels to the future, where he witnesses his own death.
