Marnie, motion picture about a compulsive thief named Marnie, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Released in 1964, the film stars Tippi Hedren as Marnie, a woman who habitually steals from her employers then escapes by changing her identity. When Mark Rutland (played by Sean Connery) catches Marnie stealing from his company, he becomes fascinated with her kleptomania. After Rutland forces Marnie to marry him, he learns of her frigidity and rapes her. Later, Rutland locates Marnie’s mother, who tells him the roots of her kleptomania.
